Ski in Bansko Skiing Resort in BulgariaBansko is considered the best ski resort in Bulgaria. It has the most modern ski centres of all Bulgarian resorts. Bansko ski runs lie on the Northern slopes of Pirin Mountain. The ski runs are situated in two main ski-centres: Chalin Valog and Shiligarnika. The total length of the ski runs in the two ski-centers is 65 kilometers. The ski centers are just 10 km away from the town and they are easily accessible by a lift starting from Bansko.

Bansko ski runs are maintained by several snow cannons. They provide perfect conditions for skiing and make the ski season last longer. Bansko ski runs have all the range of different inclines and types of snow. This provides an excellent vacation for everyone, from absolute beginners to really experienced skiers.

For extreme skiers Bansko provides conditions for off-piste skiing. However, one should have certain knowledge of the place to avoid hidden dangers when having fun. Ski guide service is available for intermediate and advanced skiers for off-piste skiing. Full day guiding service is also available to snowboarders.

The well-maintained lift system works from 09:30 till 16:30 each day. There is also night-skiing on the unique 7 km lighted ski run into the town. Bansko night skiing is open to everyone on Saturday evening, can be booked on weekdays on the spot.


Prices for skiing in Bansko start from 21 EUR (42 BGN ) for a daily lift-pass.

Full ski equipment and ski schools are also available. Prices for adults for full ski equipment, ski school for 4 hours a day, ski evening and a lift pass are 136 euro for 6 days and 495 euro for 13 days. Prices for children are lower.
